Gossip Girl star Blake Lively has built notoriety as much for her style as for her lead roll as Serena van der Woodsen on the hit TV show. The show itself has garnered some major attention for it’s strong fashion point of view, but even off-screen Lively’s wardrobe tends to get people all worked up. The blond ingenue is known for showing off her mile-long legs in short skirts and dresses and recently she caused a stir by wearing a super low-cut top by Preen to a Comic Con event in San Diego, CA (pictured left). Though she certainly upped the vamp factor from what the shirt looked like on the runway, I think Blake’s slim figure helps her pull it off without looking trashy. What do you think?
The Preen shirt certainly isn’t for everyone, but casual Blake style – on the set and on the street – is chic and fun in a way that a lot of people can try. Her character Serena is regularly styled in high end pieces combined in an uptown-meets-downtown way. Thankfully, you don’t necessarily have to have Upper Eastside NYC cash to emulate the styles Blake wears on the show. Have a look at some of her recent outfits below then browse the style feed for pieces to create a similar look. Ready, set, SHOP!

Here’s Blake on the set wearing a hippie-chic dress by Diane Von Furstenberg. Key elements of this dress are it’s mini length, psychedelic print, and batwing sleeves. Keep these elements in mind and you don’t have to buy the exact dress to get this look. Try the following suggestions from the Shopparel style feed. Next up is Blake off the set and on the town in cazh party look. But don’t discount the power of a plain white tee. Here the actress pairs her t-shirt with a sequined mini skirt, which punches the outfit up for club-worthy status. Note how she wears it – a bit oversized and slightly wrinkled.
